Finalist activities
Finalists for the Danforth, Ervin, and Rodriguez Scholars Programs are invited to participate in a series of events and activities to get to know the scholar program communities better and learn more about WashU. Finalists will also take part in an interview with members of the selection committee.
Orientation
As part of first-year orientation, the Danforth, Ervin and Rodriguez scholars each head off to their own off-campus retreats. This allows the students to bond as a cohort, as well as meet upperclassmen and be welcomed into the community.
First-Year Dinner
On the first day of classes each fall, all three of the scholarship programs invite their first-year scholars to a dinner to meet and begin to form relationships with one another.
The Table
Twice a year, scholars have the opportunity to meet with an esteemed member of the WashU faculty in an informal, personal setting.
Alumni in Residence
Embodying the spirit of “once a scholar, always a scholar”, alumni doing remarkable things in their professional lives come back to campus to share their journey and experiences with current scholars.
Formal
Held at the end of the spring semester, this event brings together all three scholar programs to celebrate the school year.
Commencement Dinner
During graduation festivities, we host a celebratory reception and dinner for each scholar program for our graduating seniors and their families.
