Olin Business student leads with focus on values, service

WashU first-year Farah Bader was selected to receive the Cochlear Graeme Clark Scholarship for recipients of the Cochlear Nucleus Implant who demonstrate high academic achievement, along with Saint Louis University (SLU) first-year Grace Fleming.

Spencer Snipe, of Atlanta, a political science major in Arts & Sciences, is an Ervin Scholar, a member of the Bears football team and co-president of the Association of Black Students.

Washington University in St. Louis senior Elijah Darden has been selected for the prestigious Gates Cambridge Scholarship, which fully funds postgraduate study and research at the University of Cambridge.

Julia Macias, associate dean for the Office of Scholar Programs, has been appointed director of student leader development for the George and Carol Bauer Leaders Academy, effective May 1, according to Anna Gonzalez, vice chancellor for student affairs.

Each year, the Gerry and Bob Virgil Ethic of Service Award recognizes select members of the WashU community who show exemplary commitment to service and engagement within the St. Louis area.
